Shopping online can be dangerous, dangerously fun that is.
Nothing soothes the soul more like a little retail therapy but nothing makes me sadder than spending money on something not worth the cost.
Before purchasing you can use social media to investigate products and use this information in the decision-making process.
The first stage of the decision-making process is the problem recognition stage. This is when people see something for the first time and recognizes it as a solution to cure their wants and needs.
Social media now uses lots of different ways to advertise to get people to this stage. This can be done using traditional sponsored ads, shared endorsements from friends, curated images and content, location and participatory commerce.
The second step is the information search. One way businesses can influence the decision making process is by including information like comments and conversations about the product, ratings and likes, product pricing information, social search queries, wish lists and chatbots to create a smooth shopping experience for the customer.
For some customers, the ZMOT is the moment before consumers make a purchase.
Before clicking the add to kart button Ironpaper recommends 4 questions to ask yourself first:
1. What features are important or useful in this product?
2. How does this specific product compare to similar ones?
3. What are other people saying about the product?
4. Where is the cheapest place to purchase the product I want?
This helps to determine the value of your purchase and is an important part of the decision-making process. This is called finding an alternative evaluation and identifies other people that have been successful in their purchase and recommend it, or not.
This is then followed by the purchase FMOT, and the aftereffect of your purchase, the TMOT, which is whether you would recommend it yourself to a friend.
Thanks, wish me luck for next week.
Stay Safe. Bye!
Totally agree! When purchasing something online, ideally I would like to know a bit about the product, what the various options are, customer testimonials always help as it gives me reassurance about the product and where and how I can get this for the cheapest prices possible! Photos and videos of the product in use never hurt any one too
Love this, super interesting!
